Their value appears in judgment. A customer may request 900D Oxford because it sounds more premium, but the engineer has to decide whether the extra weight and stiffness improve the actual use case. Vehicle Fitment Engineer

The two fitment engineers maintain and use data around make, model, year, generation, trim, tire size, tire diameter, tire width, spare carrier, backup camera, camera position, recommended cover and fitment notes.
