Material Name Is Not a Complete Tire Cover Specification
A material name is only the beginning of a tire cover specification. “PVC,” “PU leather” and “600D Oxford” can each describe many constructions with different weight, backing, coating, flexibility, printing behavior and outdoor performance. Szoneier therefore defines the material that will actually enter production instead of buying by trade name alone.
A PVC Specification Goes Beyond PVC
A tire-cover PVC construction typically combines a PVC surface layer with a polyester textile backing. The surface contributes the water barrier, abrasion resistance, texture, color and print surface. The backing contributes tensile strength, tear resistance, dimensional stability and sewing strength.
